Bio-identical Hormones Do Not Raise Stroke Risk
(NaturalNews) A large new study from France, published in an American Heart Association journal last spring, shows that bioidentical hormones do not raise the risk of stroke in menopausal women. While it has been well established over the past decade that menopausal women who use synthetic hormone replacement therapy (HRT) such as PremPro have a significantly higher risk of stroke, there has been little safety data for bioidentical hormones.

The French E3N research, which is following 100,000 women over time, is the first to show that bioidentical hormone users have the same or lower risk of stroke and blood clots as women not using any hormone replacement. Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as those made by the human body, while synthetic hormones are not found in nature. Three large population studies have shown that menopausal women who use synthetic hormones have a significantly higher risk of breast cancer, stroke, heart disease and gallbladder disease, including the U.S. Women`s Health Initiative (WHI), the British Million Women Study, and the French E3N study, all published over the past decade... Excessive Amounts Of Vitamin D Linked To Onset Of Atrial Fibrillation
T.S.Wiley notes, “In the last couple of years there’s a mass assumption that Vitamin D is the new panacea for all of the diseases of civilization and is constantly promoted at all of the medical conventions physician’s attend obtaining their CME’s.

Before a new supplement “craze” takes over completely, it’s wise to try and estimate the possible downside of the random excessive ingestion of a secosteroid, which is a sub-class of steroid hormones.

Oil based vitamins like A, D, and E aren't exactly vitamins.

Vitamin D, like A and E, resides in the netherworld between steroid hormones, which control themselves with negative and positive feedback loops, a nutritional component with vitamin-like action and immunoreactive cytokine or major player in your immune system. This substance called vitamin D may actually relate in its deficiency to all of the diseases that appear in aging; but this idea must be examined carefully because vitamin D is a very, very powerful piece of the cancer and cardiac disease puzzle in terms of its potential mechanisms of action at co-responsive receptor sites”... Hysterectomy Increases Risk for Earlier Menopause among Younger Women
In a finding that confirms what many obstetricians and gynecologists suspected, Duke University researchers report that younger women who undergo hysterectomies face a nearly two-fold increased risk for developing menopause early.

The study, published in the December issue of the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, is the largest analysis to track over time the actual hormonal impact of woman who had hysterectomies and compare them to women whose uteruses remained intact.

"Hysterectomy is a common treatment for many conditions, including fibroids and excessive bleeding," said Patricia G. Moorman, PhD., MSPH, an associate professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Duke University and lead author of the study. "Most women are very satisfied with the results of a hysterectomy. But this is a potential risk of the surgery that should be considered along with the benefit."... Read More

Older Men With Higher Testosterone Levels Lose Less Muscle Mass as They Age
T.S. Wiley notes, "Beginning at age 30, men begin losing testosterone at a rate of 1% to 2% per year. The rate is so slow that men don't recognize that a health issue is associated with low testosterone immediately. But the symptoms have been there all along like, decreased sexual thoughts, sexual performance, decreased muscle mass, decreased energy and motivation, depressed mood or grouchiness, excessive or daytime sleepiness, increased muscle aches, increased body fat, frailty, and more."

Men experiencing andropause (male menopause), lose muscle mass as testosterone wanes, then glucose has nowhere to go except into fat-pad expansion. Those fat pads make estrone (estrogen), and by their late fifties or sixties, with low testosterone and high estrogen, men have begun to turn into women. That's when men begin to get cancer, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, osteoporosis, metabolic syndrome, heart disease and even an increased chance of death in general. To avoid all potential issues, one's hormones need to be in the correct balance", states Wiley.

The following article discusses a study which looked at the relationship between testosterone levels and healthy aging in older men and found that higher testosterone levels may help older men preserve muscle mass and delay frailty as they age... Read More

Mothers Are Not Reaching Breastfeeding Goals: What Needs to Change?
T.S.Wiley is and always will be a strong proponent of breastfeeding babies into toddler hood, primarily as the single strongest action against preventing breast cancer.

Even though breast-feeding has increased globally, we have a long way to go to reap the maximum benefits for both mother and child. We urge our clinicians to educate their patients and their patient’s children.

More mothers are breastfeeding their newborns, but for too short a duration to gain the maximum benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and infants. New observations and a variety of strategies for encouraging women to breastfeed longer are presented in a collection of articles in Breastfeeding Medicine, the Official Journal of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. The articles are available online at www.liebertpub.com/bfm.

"The key issues are identified as education of the healthcare providers and the patients and a support system in the early weeks postpartum," writes Ruth Lawrence, MD, Editor-in-Chief of Breastfeeding Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics, University of Rochester School of Medicine, in her Editorial... Dr. Christian Renna
I feel the most rewarding aspect of being a compounding pharmacist is the opportunity to drastically improve a patient’s quality of life. A majority of my patients often deal with a wide range of issues including night sweats, hot flashes, fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, and numerous others issues. I find that balancing hormones can drastically improve many of the symptoms associated pre-menopause through post-menopause. While there are various modes of treating hormonal imbalance, the Wiley Protocol can help refractory patients that have tried everything else.

Earlier this May, I consulted a patient new to the Wiley Protocol on the basics and science behind her medications. During our consultation, this particular patient indicated she had menstrual issues throughout her entire life. In her twenties, she tried birth control pills to treat her symptoms and found that it only exacerbated the symptoms. She then went on to try patches, pellets, and even statically dosed hormone creams. While they did help, nothing has worked for her as well as the Wiley Protocol. Three months after starting the protocol she raves about how well she is doing and the newfound energy.

I have been fortunate enough to see these results in many of my patients ranging from women in their twenty’s to those past sixty-five years of age. T.S. Wiley has developed different protocols for numerous conditions ranging from hormone restoration to thyroid support and I’d strongly recommend them as an alternative to conventional pharmaceutical medications.

Interview with a Wiley Protocol Provider:

We asked Dr. Nirvana how she first came to the Wiley Protocol, what her clinical experience has been thus far and to share a patient’s experience, which she found remarkable:

I was first introduced to the WP through Harbor Compounding Pharmacy. I attended the “Two Days Back on Earth” conference with some of my colleagues. I have been prescribing the protocol for one and a half years with profound and life-changing results for my patients. One of my most remarkable patients came to me a year ago with symptoms of excessive weight gain, lethargy, depression, low stamina, decreased libido and no motivation at all. After completing her labs, I wasn't surprised to find her labs dangerously askew. Her lipids were through the roof and all of her sex hormones were drastically low, including her thyroid.

She was desperate and while she was unfamiliar with the Wiley Protocol, she was eager to get started on the BHRT hormones.

After only 1 week, she called me and reported feeling like another person. Her motivation and stamina were back again, her energy level had increased to the point she was looking forward to exercising and her libido...well, that's self-explanatory.

After one year of being on the hormones, she is back to her normal self but even more invigorated and determined.

Truly a change for the better!

Dr. Nirvana practices medicine in Newport Beach, CA, and can be reached here.

Lights Out
This fascinating, thought-provoking study discusses the central role of sleep in our lives. After probing the scientific literature, T.S. Wiley and Formby, researchers at the Sansum Medical Research Institute, conclude that, "the disastrous slide in the health of the American people corresponds to the increase in light-generating night activities and the carbohydrate consumption that follows.

F.Y.I... We have been told that there are many pharmacies around the country claiming to make the Wiley Protocol. Unless your hormones come in our color coded packaging (green and purple for women, blue and burgundy for men), it says Wiley all over and the pharmacy has our sign in their window, they have not registered with us to make the authentic Wiley Protocol. You would be getting a generic product that will not stand up to federal scrutiny for scientific study.

Please make sure your provider abides by our patent and trademarks and sends your prescription to a Wiley Registered Pharmacy.
